Counselling for Children & Young People

I offer counselling and mentoring for children and young people aged 12 to 17 years both online and face to face.

How can counselling help?

If you are 12 to 17 years old and grappling with issues like self image, family and peer relationships, academic pressure, home or school expectations of compliance, low mood, excessive anxiety, role confusion, identity and others, you would probably benefit from talking with a counsellor.

As a teenager you might feel you lack agency and your voice is not heard. In the counselling space you are welcome to explore your issues and feelings without fear of judgement. Maybe you feel you do have agency and voice but could use some help to utilise them in a constructive way.

A counsellor / mentor can help you explore the sources of your difficulties and identify tools and strategies that could help.

Supporting young people

I aim to support pre-teens and teenagers with exploring anxiety, stress, relationships with family or friends, identity issues... whatever you are finding dificult, finding tools and strategies to cope, to make change and to feel better.

I draw on my empathy, my training, my professional experience in the UK and around the world and my personal experience as a child, a young person, a parent and grandparent to help me connect with the young person I am working with regardless of their culture, religion, gender, sexuality, or any label either self assigned or assigned by others.

Online counselling for 12-17 year olds is £30 per hour and face to face counselling at Hawkerland Edge is £35 per hour.
